Parliament resumes today
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The House of Representatives will resume this afternoon at Gordon House, after an approximate 6-week break.
OBSERVER ONLINE was unable to determine what items will be addressed at today’s first sitting of the new session, however. No agenda was available from either Gordon House staff, Speaker of the House, Pearnel Charles, or Leader of Government Business, Derrick Smith. It was understood that this may have been due to a late meeting of the cabinet.
Smith told the Observer last week that he expects “very interesting sessions”, during which he has promised focus on consummating a campaign finance mechanism for the political parties.
