J$50,000 worth of ganja found in laptop bag, woman arrested
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Detectives from the Narcotics Division arrested a woman at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) in Kingston in connection with the seizure of approximately J$50,000 worth of ganja at the facility on Sunday.
The police have not released her identity.
Reports from the Corporate Communications Unit are that the woman’s suitcase was searched during security screening and a laptop bag with a false compartment found.
The compartment reportedly had approximately eight pounds of ganja inside it.
The police say she is scheduled to be interviewed later this week.
