PM tours MoBay ahead of Hurricane Matthew
ST JAMES, Jamaica – Prime Minister Andrew Holness is currently touring sections of the resort city of Montego Bay, St James, ahead of Hurricane Matthew, which is expected to begin impacting the island as of tomorrow night.
The prime minister is accompanied by Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation Dr Horace Chang, who is also the member of Parliament for St James North West, and representatives of several State agencies.
The tour was organised in an effort to give the prime minister a first-hand look at the preparations being made by government agencies and citizens for the impending threat of Hurricane Matthew.
So far, the touring party has visited a number of critical drains in the resort city, including the South Gully and North Gully, which are susceptible to flooding.
