#TrackingMatthew: Some MoBay flights cancelled but Sangster Airport remains open
KINGSTON, Jamaica — MBJ Airports Limited, operators of Sangster International Airport, said it continues to monitor Hurricane Matthew and advised late yesterday that the airport remains open and operational until further notice.
MBJ also advised that the following airlines have confirmed cancellations:
Caribbean Airlines – Cancelled Flight 011 to New York for Sunday October 2, 2016
Southwest – Cancelled all flights into and out of Montego Bay for Monday October 3, 2016
Spirit – Cancelled all flights into and out of Montego Bay for Monday October 3, 2016
Thomson Airways – Cancelled Flight 094/5 from/to London Gatwick for Monday October 3, 2016
WestJet – Cancelled Flight 2702/3 from/to Toronto for Monday October 3, 2016 WestJet passengers are being rebooked on flight 2702 to depart Montego Bay at 2:10 pm on Tuesday October 4, 2016.
The travelling public is encouraged to contact their respective airlines directly regarding flight operations before arriving at the airport.
Passengers booked on cancelled flights are advised to contact their travel agents or airlines for rebooking options.
MBJ Airports Limited recommends that industry partners make contact with the airlines regarding flight operations prior to transporting guests to the airport.
