Remote-controlled action heats up
The second round of the Island Electric Series, hosted by the Jamrock Remote Control Car Club (JRRCCC), was completed at Sovereign Centre on the Boulevard, Washington Boulevard in St Andrew, last Sunday.
“The meet was rather an interesting one, as it was the first electric class race since our Caribbean International event that happened in August,” Denise Burton-Clarke, JRRCCC president, told Auto.
According to Clarke, several racers incorporated knowledge from their experience with international competitors into their own set-ups, which resulted in faster lap times for them. In the 1/10 scale Electric GT class, Gary Sailsman led Andre Blaine and Izette McCalla. Howard Maitland fought a close race with Denise Clarke for the 1/10 scale Mini FWD class win, leaving Izette McCalla in third. Mike Clarke won the final group 1/10 scale Electric Touring.
“The meet has proven once again to be a success as the club gears up for the upcoming Jamrock Nationals in January 2017,” Clarke said.
