Canadian woman held with cocaine
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police are reporting the arrest and charge of a Canadian woman who was trying to board a flight with a quantity of cocaine at the Sangster International Airport, on Monday
Charged with breaches of the Dangerous Drug Act is Kim Halasz, a 40-year-old accountant of Wilson Street in Toronto, Canada.
Halasz was reportedly at the airport for a flight to Canada about 11:00 pm when she started acting in a manner which aroused the suspicion of the police.
A suitcase she was carrying was searched and 2.2 kilograms of cocaine was found. The drug has an estimated street value of US$20,900 or about J$2.61 million.
