Wet outfield delays resumption of Scorpions vs Volcanoes clash
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A wet outfield has delayed the start of play on day two of the Digicel Regional four-day match between Jamaica Scorpions and Windward Islands Volcanoes at Sabina Park.
The Scorpions are 83-6 after only 36 overs were possible on Friday’s opening day due to wet spots on the outfield. ?Play was scheduled to resume at 9:30 am on Saturday — 30 minutes earlier than the usual start time — to make up for lost time.
But when the protective covers were removed this morning wet spots were visible in the bowlers’ run-up area. ?Word coming from the match officials is that an inspection will be done and play cannot resume before 12:10 pm.
