Man charged in chopping death of woman on Washington Boulevard
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police say detectives assigned to the Duhaney Park Police Station have charged the man implicated in the murder of the woman who was chopped to death on Washington Boulevard in St Andrew on November 6.
The dead woman is 23-year-old Patrice Lewis, who the police say is from a Kingston 20 address.
Reports from the police are that about 6:00 pm, Lewis was seen running along the roadway when she tripped and fell.
Shortly afterwards, she was allegedly attacked and chopped by the accused multiple times.
The police were alerted and she was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The man was taken into police custody that day but wasn’t charged until November 21.
His identity is being withheld pending further investigations, the police say.
