Roadway collapses near UTech entrance
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The National Water Commission (NWC) is advising that the roadway at the entrance of the parochial road leading off Old Hope Road in proximity of the University of Technology (UTech) has been closed after heavy rain caused a breakaway in a section near the NWC’s sewer mains.
The NWC says that the company currently has a team on site that is undertaking necessary assessment and rehabilitation work.
Motorists are therefore being urged to exercise caution in approaching the area and to use the alternative road (via Gordon Town Road) when accessing or departing institutions such as MIND, UTech and the NWC training and audit departments, as well as residences in the area.
