Colours in Praise: After-Exam Flex

COLOURS in Praise — the ultimate praise party  — is slated to take place on the grounds of St Andrew High School for Girls, 10 Cecelio Avenue in Half-Way-Tree, St Andrew, this afternoon.

The event is scheduled to begin at 5:00 pm and ends by 9 pm. Admission is $500.

According to organisers, students are invited to ‘come hold a vibe’ and praise God for life after their exams. Members of church groups are also invited to join the celebration. Patrons should wear clothes that reflect the colours of their respective schools or churches as they participate in the praise party.

“This is more than just a one-off party, concert or music festival,” said spokesman Rev Michael Aiken. “We are promoting a Psalm 150 and Isaiah 42:12 island lifestyle for Jamaica and from Jamaica to the world. All our events will be sizzling, but sanctified!”

There will be performances from several schools and churches, with gospel artiste Rondell Positive bringing the party to a climax. Disc jockeys from several schools will face off under the guidance of DJ Marlon Young, who will provide uplifting party music for the evening. A Fashion and Decorum show featuring designers such as Kyda Style Fashion and Felicia Drummond is also planned.

Originally planned for November 26, the event was rescheduled due to the inclement weather.
