Alleged robber remanded for three alleged break-ins
A man who is now before the court for three separate cases of housebreaking and larceny was remanded last Friday.
The court heard that the accused, Michael Ellis, broke into the complainant’s home in Kingston and stole $160,000.
The window was reportedly dusted for fingerprints, which matched those of the accused.
In the other cases, Ellis is accused of breaking into the two homes and stealing more than $500,000 worth of valuables, including laptops, cellular phones and jewellery.
According to the police, on September 12 Ellis broke into an apartment in Kingston and stole a Lenovo laptop, valued at US$300.
Further reports state that on the same day Ellis broke into another house and stole US$3,500 worth of valuables including a laptop, iPod, cellular phones and jewellery.
The robberies were reported and, following investigation, Ellis was arrested and charged.
Ellis was remanded until January 24, when all three matters will be mentioned.
