Cops link murder of St Elizabeth brothers to lottery scam feud

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – The police believe that the murder of two brothers at Retirement in north west St Elizabeth early Thursday is the result of an ongoing gang feud related to lottery scamming.

The dead men have been named as Sherman Williams, 22 and Oshane Williams, 24, also called ‘Tar’, both of Retirement in the Maggotty police area.

Reports are that at about 3:00 am neighbours heard gunshots. The police were called and the lawmen found the bullet-riddled bodies of the two men at Sherman Williams’ house in Retirement.

The police said Sherman Williams was out on bail on lottery scam charges and was reporting regularly to them as a condition of his bail.

The lawmen also said an older brother, Dwight Williams, also called ‘Dewie’ was shot dead in October last year in the Mocho area of south St James. At the time, Dwight Williams was on the run, wanted for murder and shooting.

According to the police, the Williams’ brothers and another alleged criminal gang, supposedly led by Tyvel Dixon have been feuding for years.
