PNP accuses St Thomas JLP councillor of hiding from summons
ST THOMAS, Jamaica — The caucus of People’s National Party (PNP) councillors in the St Thomas Parish Council are calling on councillor for the Yallahs Division, Dean Jones, to make himself available to be served a summons to appear in Court in a matter to be heard on February 14.
Former councillor for the Yallahs Division, Constantine Bogle, filed an election petition challenging the eligibility of Jones to sit as a councillor in the St Thomas Parish Council on the grounds that he is not a resident of the parish.
The matter is to be heard on February 14, but according to Bogle, bailiffs have been unable to locate Jones to serve him the summons.
“Mr Jones is playing a game of hide-and-seek, and is seeking to frustrate the legal process by preventing the bailiff from serving him with a summons. I am calling on him to come out of hiding and allow due process to take its course,” PNP Councillor Hubert Williams said.
