Cops yet to identify St Ann businessman’s shooter from CCTV footage
ST ANN, Jamaica —The St Ann police have not yet been able to ascertain the identity of a man, who was captured on CCTV camera shooting Runaway Bay businessman Alfred Whorms.
Whorms, 66, was shot dead at his business place on Wednesday, January 18. The video, which is circulating on social media, shows the man dressed in a safety hat and vest entering the business establishment.
The man proceeded to search for something before shooting the distracted Whorms, who was seen reading a newspaper shortly before.
Superintendent Gary Francis, head of the St Ann police, said he was aware of the video being circulated but did not know who released the video to the public. He said the police have not yet identified the man in the video.
In the meantime, a man who was arrested in relation to the murder of another St Ann businessman, 82-year-old Colin Corrodus, was released after he was not identified in an identification parade.
Corrodus was shot dead at his home in Epworth, St Ann on Monday, January 2 as he played a game of dominoes with friends. His firearm was stolen.
The police say investigations into both matter continue.
