Stadium East Track to reopen Monday
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Ministry Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport says that repairs to Stadium East at Independence Park should be completed this week-end and the track reopen on Monday.
According to the ministry, the annual maintenance work on the Stadium East running track was scheduled to take place in December 2016, but had to be postponed due to persistent rain.
The management of Independence Park Limited made the decision to close the track at the beginning of January to facilitate repairs. The repair work is in progress and is expected to be completed this weekend.
It is anticipated that the track will be reopened on Monday as scheduled.
Independence Park Limited says that it apologises for any inconvenience that the necessary closure may have caused.
