GREEN ISLAND, Hanover — The police and relatives of a Hanover woman who was reportedly abducted by gunmen in Prospect, Hanover, on January 9, are offering a reward for information that can assist the police in their investigations.

“A reward of $100,000 is being offered for information,” deputy superintendent of police in charge of the Hanover Police Division, Arthel Colley, disclosed on Wednesday.

The missing woman has been identified as 32-year-old Tasha Gordon of Cauldwell, also in Hanover.

On the night Gordon was allegedly abducted, the gunmen also shot dead her employer, businessman Marvin McIntosh, at his business place in Propsect, Green Island.

The Jamaica Observer learnt that about 8:30 pm on January 9, residents heard explosions and summoned the police, who, upon their arrival, found McIntosh’s body lying face down on the floor of his shop with his hands bound and what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his head.

A senior police investigator told the Observer then that, based on leads, they went in search of the gunmen and abducted woman. Their search led them to a cane field in the area where they found $9,000 and a pair of slippers belonging to the woman. Dogs from the police Canine Division were later brought in to assist with the serach, but this proved futile.

DSP Colley said the police have since scaled down their search and are currently acting on information.
