Trini women fight outside airport chicken shop
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC — Works and Transport Rohan Sinanan is calling for criminal charges to be brought against several women who were involved in a brawl at a fast food chicken outlet at the Piarco International Airport over the weekend.
Sinanan told the Trinidad Guardian newspaper that he had viewed the video that has since gone viral on various social network platforms, including Facebook, describing the incident as serious security breach.
“I immediately contacted the Airport’s chairman and told him to ensure that prosecution goes to the final stages. This is certainly unacceptable in the international airport and I will ensure that no stone is left unturned in the investigations,” Sinanan told the newspaper.
The fight on Saturday, which was captured on video footage by several onlookers, had more than 8,000 views on Sunday and showed a scuffle involving at least four women despite the presence of officers from the Airports Authority who attempted to intervene.
The fight lasted close to three minutes and at the end of it three of the women were reportedly detained, handcuffed and led away from the food court area. Three airport security officers also reportedly suffered minor injuries during the brawl.
