Police get 10 more used vehicles
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Ten police divisions today received pre-owned vehicles as the Ministry of National Security continues to improve the mobility of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), a release from the ministry reported.
The police divisions are: Westmoreland, Hanover, Manchester, Clarendon, St Catherine South, St Catherine North, St Andrew Central, St Andrew North, St Andrew South, and St Thomas.
This deployment takes to 38 the total number of used vehicles to police stations islandwide since October last year. According to the release, the procurement process for more vehicles is underway.
Meanwhile, 26 new motorbikes have also been distributed to police divisions around the island. Security Minister Robert Montague welcomed the latest deployment of vehicles, noting that increased mobility for the JCF is key to the efforts in tacking criminal activities. He also asked JCF personnel who use the vehicles to take utmost care of them.
