NSWMA to get 11 new garbage compactors
KINGSTON, Jamaica (JIS) — The number of garbage compactors owned by the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) is expected to be increased soon.
Cabinet has approved a US$1.8 million contract to Kingston Industrial Agencies for the supply of 11 McNeilus garbage compactors for the NSWMA.
Minister of Education, Youth and Information, Senator Ruel Reid, made the announcement during the recent post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House.
The authority provides solid waste management services across the island in order to safeguard public health while helping to create an environment that is healthy and aesthetically pleasing for both residents and visitors.
