FIFA official to tour JFF technical centre
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Members of the FIFA delegation currently in the island will do a site visit of the Jamaica Football Federation’s (JFF) Dormitory Facility and Technical Centre at the University of the West Indies (UWI) on Friday.
Both projects are funded under the outgoing FIFA GOAL Project.
According to an advisory from JFF, the technical centre includes classroom facilities for courses and training and two fields on which all national teams train.
Meanwhile the dormitory facility, which is currently under construction, is a three-storey building located on the southern section of the technical centre.
It will house fifty-two players and staff, and will include a dining lounge and study area as well as back room facilities including industrial catering kitchen, housekeeping and laundry, JFF added.
On completion, this facility will allow for mainly youth teams to be housed for training over prolonged periods in an all-inclusive way, the federation explained.
The JFF said will discuss its entire vision for the centre.
Representatives for the Caribbean member associations who are also in the island will be present on the 3:30 pm tour.
