Keith Clarke murder trial set for September 25
KINGSTON, Jamaica — After several delays, the Keith Clarke murder trial is now firmly booked for four weeks, beginning on September 25, in the Circuit Court.
The new date, which is some six months away, was agreed on to facilitate the availability of both defence and crown courts and also because no courts are available at present.
The date was scheduled when the matter came up for mention this morning.
The soldiers, Lance Corporals Greg Tinglin and Odel Buckley, and Private Arnold Henry, are to be tried for the May 2010 killing of Clarke at his Kirkland Heights, St Andrew home during the hunt for then Tivoli Gardens don Christopher “Dudus” Coke.
The Jamaica Defence Force alleged that Clarke’s house was raided based on intelligence that Coke may have been hiding there.
An autopsy revealed that Clarke was shot more than 20 times.
