Police seize $millions during anti-narcotics operation

MANCHESTER, Jamaica — The police is reporting that detectives from the Narcotics Division seized millions of dollars during an anti-narcotics operation in Mandeville yesterday.

Reports are that the officers intercepted a Suzuki Swift motorcar along West Road and, upon searching the vehicle, found the money totalling over J$4.5 million and USD$ 9,100.

The cash was seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act, and the police say the Financial Investigation Division (FID) has since joined the probe.

Investigations continue.
