Section of Marcus Garvey Drive to be closed tomorrow
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Sections of Marcus Garvey Drive in Kingston will be closed to vehicular traffic tomorrow to facilitate work by the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS).
A news release from the National Works Agency (NWA) today outlined that the intersection of East Avenue and Industrial Terrace along Marcus Garvey Drive will be closed between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:00pm.
The light and power company will be continuing its planned replacement of high tension wires in the vicinity of its Marcus Garvey plant.
With the closure, motorists wishing to travel towards downtown Kingston from the direction of Tinson Pen will be diverted onto East Avenue and Spanish Town Road. Those motorists travelling from downtown, Kingston towards the Portmore Toll Road will be re-routed along Industrial Terrace and Spanish Town Road.
Motorists are being advised to obey the posted warning signs and instructions of flag-persons during the time specified.
