Christiana double murder contract killing — Manchester police
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — Superintendent of the Manchester Police Division Wayne Cameron says that yesterday’s murder in Christiana is believed to be a contract killing.
Thirty-two-year-old salesman Garfield Morgan and 37-year-old taxi operator Dinval White were fatally shot in Mollison, just outside of the town.
Speaking at today’s meeting of the Manchester Municipal Corporation, Cameron said that there is evidence to suggest that Morgan may have been involved in selling items on the “black market” and was the target.
Cameron said that nine-and-a-half cases of “bootleg” white rum and “several” cartons of cigarettes of various brands, some of which the police are not familiar with, were removed from the premises where the men were killed.
“We believe Morgan was targetted. The other man was taken out because he was there. In essence we believe that’s a contracted killing,” Cameron said.
The Manchester Police Superintendent used the meeting to urge community members to “speak up if they observe illegal activities happening around them to prevent crimes from reaching the doors of innocent people in community”.
Morgan and White are believed to be brothers who shared a home in Mollison.
Cameron said that nothing was taken from the deceased men.
