Man held with illegal firearm in Manchester

MANCHESTER, Jamaica — The police are reporting that a Manchester man was arrested and charged after he was held with an illegal firearm and ammunition this morning.

Arrested is 32-year-old Anthony Dixon, otherwise called ‘Seaga’, of Browns Close in May Day, Manchester.

Reports from the Mandeville police are that at about 9:05 am, a team of officers spotted Dixon acting suspiciously at a shop in the parish and accosted him. He was searched and the gun and ammunition reportedly taken from him.

He is scheduled to appear in the Manchester Parish Court on Thursday, March 16.
