UNDP to launch 2016 Human Development Report in Clarendon next Tuesday
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will on Tuesday launch its 2016 Human Development Report.
The report, according to UNDP, is the globally accepted standard for measuring and assessing development progress and is a valued tool for national planning.
Also included in the report is a much-anticipated country ranking in overall development including gender, poverty eradication, sustainable development, health, education and other indices, UNDP said.
Jamaica’s overall development ranking in the 2015 report was 99.
The global launch and unveiling of the report will take place at the Wembley Centre of Excellence in Hayes, Clarendon.
It is organised by UNDP, in collaboration with the Clarendon Parish Development Committee Benevolent Society and the Combined Disabilities Association
UN Resident Coordinator and Resident Representative, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Mr Bruno Pouezat and Minister of Transport and Mining, Lester Mike Henry are each slated to make an address.
