Woman nabbed with 31lbs of ganja at NMIA
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police have reported that a 28-year-old woman was today arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) and charged with breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
The accused, Francine Hamilton, who is reportedly unemployed of a Spanish Town, St Catherine address, was found with 31 pounds of compressed ganja in her luggage during security screening, the police said.
The estimated street value of the ganja is $155,000.
Hamilton was reportedly attempting to board a flight destined for Nassau, Bahamas about 9:00 am.
She was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of ganja, dealing in ganja, and taking preparatory steps to export ganja.
She is to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Monday.
