So when I heard the title of a film was simply THE ACCOUNTANT you know I didn’t hesitate to skip right past it. Over and over I did not pay this film any attention, until one day based on the recommendation of not one but three reliable sources I decided to have at it and boy was I pleasantly surprised. First off let’s just say, YES, it is about an accountant namely Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) who starts off with a very disturbing childhood but turns out to be nothing short of a math genius.

Taking on a job as an accountant he displays extraordinary abilities in computation, analysis and research. Sure, he is a math savant and all around boring character but the film picks up when he take a job for a high powered firm and uncovers some very disturbing discrepancies… that is when the bodies start to pile up and the action gets intense.

Full disclaimer, he is no John Wick, but Christain Wolff is adept in close range and long range combat. There are many layers to the character and the film gives us a few. It probably won’t get any sequels but for a new cult classic I recommend giving The Accountant a go!
