GOOD HOPE, Trelawny – Chukka Good Hope has ratcheted up its attraction experience with the latest addition of a US$4-million adventure park.

“This piece of the investment was done as part of our continuous expansion of the Good Hope facility, which will continue to evolve,” Marc Melville, Chukka’s director of group revenue & new development, explained in a recent interview with the Jamaica Observer West.

Melville projected that with the latest segment, which is the third phase of development, the 2,000-acre property just outside of the historic town of Falmouth will welcome twice the over 70,000 visitors it now sees annually.

The latest phase of the development is a welcome addition to the Good Hope Great House tour, ATV, Dune Buggy, zipline, river tubing, kayak, culinary tours, challenge course, bird aviary, pool, Walkerswood Jerk Centre, and Appleton Rum Tasting Experience.

Melville explained that some 200 people are currently employed at the attraction, which Chukka’s chief executive officer John Byles boasted is unique in the Caribbean.

“…[This is] the only one of its kind in the Caribbean. There are many attractions that have great houses, some attractions that just have adventure, some that are man-made… this is not man-made; this is just a restoration of something that was already here,” Byles said.

“Some attractions have history, some attractions have culinary experiences; Good Hope is truly the only property that we know of that encompasses all of those things into one destination,” he noted.

According to the operators, the latest expansion was born out of a study which highlighted the need for an activity that the entire family could enjoy.
