Feluke needs needs urgent help
Family and friends of musician/singer Denver “Feluke” Smith have created a GoFundMe account for the entertainer who is suffering from Stage 4 colon cancer.
In a recent interview with the Jamaica Observer, Thamar Williams, a close friend of Feluke, said he is in urgent need of treatment.
“He needs our help in his fight against cancer and against time and he needs it now. We desperately need your contributions to assist in getting him to Mexico for treatment and a fighting chance,” she said.
Smith was first diagnosed with colon cancer in 2014 and placed on treatment, which she said had the disease under control. However, a few years ago it returned in a more aggressive form, affecting his lungs.
Initial treatment will require a minimum of 30 days and cost US$17,000. So far, US$4,000 has been raised.
Feluke trained as a percussionist at the Alpha Boys’ School in Kingston. He is known for songs like Soul Alive andFine Wine.
