Olympian Germaine Mason to be buried on May 21

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The funeral service for Jamaica-born Olympic high jumper Germaine Mason is slated for May 21 at the Hagley Park SDA Church, Kingston 10.

The service is to begin at 9:00am.His body will be interred at Long Road, Grange Hill in Portland.Mason was killed on April 20 while heading home from a party about 4:20 am when he apparently lost control of his motorcycle, which ran off the road in eastern Kingston. The police said the 34-year-old high jumper was pronounced dead at hospital.Mason, a former student of the Wolmer’s High School for Boys, is the national record holder in the high jump.He was a part of the MVP Track Club before switching allegiance in 2006 to represent Great Britain.
