Dre Tosh comes in hot
Dre Tosh is anticipating the release of music video for his debut single Coming In Hot .
The video is scheduled to have its premiere at a release party next Wednesday, May 17.A spin-off from his grandfather Peter Tosh’s 1981 hit of the same name, the late singer’s vocals are sampled on chorus while Dre Tosh demonstrates his lyrical abilities on the verses. While paying homage to his grandfather in the song, Dre also acknowledges I Three members Judy Mowatt, Marcia Griffiths and Rita Marley.“The storyline is… I take up a cassette that says Red X (same name of documentary on the life of Peter Tosh) and I start listening to that and everything starts to come to me… This video is just saying that I am ready to take up the baton,” said Dre Tosh.“With the baton, we giving off messages, but the messages I’m giving them nuh want me convey to the world. My style is new-age rebellious. So I rebel by doing what it takes to get the message out, He continues.The video is directed by Wayne South and features a cameo of Bunny Wailer, an original member of The Wailers, which included Peter Tosh and Bob Marley.The younger Tosh believes that with this song he is extending the legacy of his grandfather and father, singer Andrew Tosh.Peter Tosh was murdered in his St Andrew home in September 1987. He was 43.
Coming In Hot was released on the Calibud Music label, a co-producer of the video with House of Congress.
