Ayron Michael continues journey
South Fl0rida-based singer Ayron Michael continues his pop-reggae journey with his upcoming single called Sweetness. The track is scheduled for release on June 2.
“
Sweetness is one of those songs that I believe will touch music lovers worldwide. The song gives a lot of love and admiration to the female body, and that is needed today with all the news I hear of body shaming. I also wanted a song that would capture the vibe of summer, and I think we’ve found it,” he told
Jamaica Observer.A native of Fort Pierce in Florida, Michael said he was mentored by James Watkins, the father of T-Boz of the pop group TLC. He has performed background vocals for Grammy Award-nominated soul singer Angie Stone, and was an opening act for Grammy-nominated R&B artist Tank.Michael said he got into reggae after meeting with producer/singer Kemar “Flava” McGregor a few years ago.“He had heard some of my earlier work and felt my voice would be perfect for
Blessing in Disguise, a song he had written last year,” he said.According to the singer, South Florida is expanding its profile as the world’s newfound epicentre for reggae-pop nightlife. The region’s ritzy nightclubs, posh Caribbean-themed restaurants and picturesque palm trees have generated a social wonderland for a well-heeled clientele that only the Fort Lauderdale environment could attract.“Pop-reggae fans would have to travel to South Florida to truly appreciate the luxuriant optimism of pop reggae where it lives and breathes. Fort Lauderdale area is the actual home for some of the most successful reggae artistes in the world, including the song’s producer ‘Flava’ McGregor,” he said. The singer is known for other tracks such as
