Bank charges have destroyed too many lives

Dormant fees are robbing poor people of valuable earnings. Fitz Jackson, the Member of Parliament (MP) for St Catherine Southern has taken first strike on the bankers for their cruelty to poor people. The MP told the painful story on radio of a farmer who lost all his earnings in the bank and had to sell his cow to bury a loved one. This is a place the poor, hard-working farmer felt his money would be safe and secure.If these bankers had any heart they would not charge these exorbitant fees to poor people. The legislators must work assiduously to correct the situation.This sick strategy is being perpetrated by the rich in boardrooms where the poor man has no access. Jackson is speaking for the voiceless and downtrodden within our midst.The incumbent Government seems not to be interested. Maybe it’s because it is these same bankers the growth initiatives are for.These bank fees have destroyed too many lives. We need to roll back and regulate the exorbitant fees by these commercial banks.I thank Jackson for his fearless initiatives and his unending quest for the rights of those in dire need.
