UDC seeking operators for Jamaican-themed shops at Dunn’s River Gardens

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) is inviting interested parties to submit requests for proposals to operate shops offering authentic Jamaican products at the newly-constructed Central Gardens attraction at Dunn’s River Falls and Park in St Ann.

The UDC, which manages the attraction through the St Ann Development Company (SADCo) is seeking; a concessionaire to sell Jamaican fast food, a concessionaire to sell Jamaican themed-pizza and a concessionaire to sell natural Jamaican juices. The UDC has emphasised that “proposals which do not include authentic Jamaican products will not be considered”.Interested individuals are being asked to submit offers in accordance with the procedures stipulated in the respective Information Memorandum Document (IMD). The IMDs are available on the UDC’s website at www.udcja.com/investments-opportunities as well as at the UDC’s 12 Ocean Boulevard Kingston Mall address between the hours of 9:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday upon payment of a non-refundable fee of $2,500 by cash or managers cheque payable to the UDC.In the meantime, the UDC said that applicants are to submit separate proposals for each request.Proposals should be itemised according the concession being applied for and must be deposited by Thursday, June 1 no later than 3:00 pm in the respectively labelled tender box located on the ground floor of the UDC’s Kingston-based main office.Proposals submitted after this time and date will be automatically rejected. The opening of proposals will commence at 3:15 pm on the same day on the ground floor of the UDC office. The Central Gardens facility which was opened in March this year features a waterslide and a splash pad for children. The layout also includes kiosks from which ice-cream, pizza and sealed liquor concessionaires and the DRFP Logo Shop will operate, boosting the experience of the customer and the commercial life of the park.
