Police fatally shoot two men in Westmoreland, seize firearms
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – Two men were fatally shot during an alleged confrontation with the police in Orange Hill, Darliston, Westmoreland this morning.
The police are reporting that two firearms and several rounds of ammunition were seized during the incident.Dead are 28-year-old Dermaine Williams otherwise called ‘Bad Indian’, and 23-year-old Kawayne Campbell otherwise called ‘Poppy’ both of Darliston, Wesrmoreland addresses.Reports from the Darliston Police are that about 6:00 am, an operation was being carried out in the area. During a search of premises the lawmen were fired upon. The police returned gunfire, after which, two men were seen with gunshot wounds. A Taurus 9mm pistol with ten 9mm rounds of ammunition along with a .38 revolver and three .38 rounds of ammunition were seized.The matter has been report to the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).
