JUTC coast past Seprod in domino league
Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) kept their hopes alive of reaching the quarter-finals of the National Association of Domino Bodies (NABD) Kingston & St Andrew Region/Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum Business House League with a shocking 117-111 win over former champions Seprod last Friday night in round five of the competition.
After going down 106-127 to Wray & Nephew Limited in round five, JUTC needed to win their match to stay in the hunt for a spot in the next round and that they did, holding off a determined Seprod team for the upset win.Defending champions Kingston Wharves and Campari maintained their perfect records with victories over Wray & Nephew Limited 117-114 and Urban Development Corporation (UDC) 120-116, respectively. Both Kingston Wharves and Campari have already booked their spot in the next round.In the other Division One game,
Gleaner won their second consecutive game when they defeated Carib Cement 138-122 to also keep their quarter-final hopes alive.In Division Two, Ministry Of Finance (MOF) turned the tables on Cari-Med with a 142-108 victory to firmly hold top position in the group.
Jamaica Observer, with a game pending with Cari-Med, have moved into second position after defeating Sagicor Jamaica 137-92.In other results, Nutrition Products got the better of Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJ) 143-129 and National Housing Trust (NHT) whipped Registrar General’s Department (RGD) 131-106.Round six takes place today with matches in both divisions.Kingston Wharves will welcome the struggling Digicel at home at King Port Building; Wray & Nephew Limited are on the road to Seprod; Gleaner host National Commercial Bank (NCB) and Campari travel to Rockfort in Kingston to Carib Cement in Division One action.
