There was much to celebrate at the 45th anniversary gala and awards ceremony of the Lannaman & Morris (Shipping) Limited last weekend at Devon House. The company’s chairman and CEO Harriat Maragh, as recalled by his director wife Charmaine in the invocation, has successfully advanced the organisation since taking ownership 20 years earlier.

“He has taken us through many uncharted waters filled with many testings, trials and tears along the journey,” she reflected with quiet poise, giving divine thanks for her husband’s coming from the brink of a near-death experience a few years ago. With him, and the company, moving from strength to strength (enjoying a 40-year partnership with Evergreen Lines and Carnival Cruise Lines) and honouring employees who have dedicated 10 to 33 years of their lives in building Lannaman & Morris, last Saturday night’s gala featured a four-course gourmet dinner, a keynote address from Commissioner of Customs Velma Ricketts-Walker, and a lively awards ceremony.
