Bob Marley’s grandson freed of gun charges
MORE than three years after he was alleged to have pulled a firearm on a security guard, Matthew Prendergast, the grandson of reggae legend Bob Marley, has been freed in the Gun Court.
Prendergast, who is based in Miami, had been charged with illegal possession of a firearm and assault at common law on April 5, 2014.Prendergast, who was on $200,000 bail, is alleged to have pointed a gun at the security guard at the Bob Marley Museum. A firearm has not been recovered.Attorney Tom Tavares-Finson, who filed a no-case submission on behalf of his client, told the court that it was costly for Prendergast to continue travelling to court.Prendergast is the son of Sharon Marley and FIFA referee instructor Peter Prendergast.
