UWI wants $20,000 commitment fee from new students
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The University of the West Indies, Mona in St Andrew, now requires the payment of a non-refundable commitment fee of $20,000 in order for new students to confirm their space at the institution.
In a letter obtained by OBSERVER ONLINE from a new student, the institution said the payment is a prerequisite for registration for the 2017/2018 academic year.
The institution said this fee must be paid by July 31 and will be applied to students’ tuition or any other fee payable upon their enrolment at the UWI.
