CAC to commence annual textbook survey this month
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The annual school textbook survey geared towards informing parents about prices and availability of books, is set for completion by the second week of August.
Chairman of the Consumer Affairs Commission (CAC), Kent Gammon said that the 2017 survey will commence during the final week of July.
“In continuation of our partnership with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information, we will survey a list of approximately 133 popular texts from the ministry approved 2017- 18 supplementary booklist for infant, primary and grade-7-9, CSEC, ( Caribbean Secondary Education Certification) and CAPE (Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations),” Gammon said the CAC’s first quarterly press briefing on Wednesday.
The survey was designed to supply consumers with information to help them find the most affordable textbooks.
