Image circulating on social media not of slain cop — police
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police, through its Corporate Communication Unit (CCU), are denying that a controversial photograph currently circulating on social media is that of slain Constable Hubert Hyman.
“The image being circulated shows a man posing with high-powered guns, a pile of cash and an accompanying voice has been attributed to that of the slain constable. The police is refuting any such assertions, as checks made by our team revealed that the image is not of the officer,” CCU said.
People are being asked to desist from circulating the erroneous information.
Gunmen on Monday night attacked and shot Hyman several times, killing him in Central Village, St Catherine.
He was assigned to the Mobile Reserve but, at the time of the attack, was on interdiction and was receiving three-quarters of his pay for seven years.
