Windies set India 206-run target in ODI decider
KINGSTON, Jamaica — West Indies have set India a victory target of 206 runs, after mustering 205-9 from their 50 overs in the fifth and final One-Day International here at Sabina Park on Thursday.
After winning the toss and opting to take first strike, the West Indies squandered a relatively good start at the top and failed to successfully accelerate in the latter stages, which has now left India in a good position to wrap up the series.
Brothers Shai (51) and Kyle (46) along with Captain Jason Holder (36) and local star Rovman Powell with a cameo of 31, were the only meaningful contribution to the Regional side’s total.
Pacers Mohammed Shami (4-48) and Umesh Yadav (3-53) were the main destroyers for India. The Indians currently lead the series 2-1.
