Firefighters injured in training at Sangster airport
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Three firefighters were yesterday injured when two fire trucks crashed at the Sangster International Airport (SIA).
According to a release from the SIA this morning, the two trucks were being operated as part of a routine training exercise around 11:30 pm when they crashed, resulting in the runway being closed.
The officers were taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment. One fire-fighter has since been released.
SIA said the runway has been reopened and normal operating conditions have been restored.
