MAJOR General Antony Anderson, Jamaica’s national security advisor, has been inducted to the United States Army Command and General Staff College International Hall of Fame (IHOF).

A release from the United States Embassy in Kingston said General Anderson is Jamaica’s first IHOF member.

The induction ceremony was held at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, on October 12, the release said.

According to the embassy, the US Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC) boasts an impressive cadre of graduates.

“The CGSC Class of 2000, from which Major General Anderson graduated, was comprised of 90 international military students from 79 countries, 16 of whom have attained general officer rank,” the release said.

General Anderson, according to the release, is the fifth graduate from the class of 2000 inducted into the IHOF, joining senior military officials from Trinidad and Tobago, Moldova, the Philippines, and Estonia.

The induction brings the number of leaders who have been honoured in the hall of fame to 274 from the more than 8,000 international officers who have graduated from the college, the release continued.

The embassy said other Jamaicans have also graduated from the CGSC.

“Since 1988, there have been 22 Jamaican graduates, including Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Rocky Meade,” the embassy said.

JDF’s Major Richard DaCosta is currently enrolled at the CGSC.
