With mere weeks to go before the Diamond Mile, The Rock’s most prestigious race day not to mention the impressive purse, the question uppermost in our minds is not only what to wear on Saturday, December 2, but how to remain cool, chic and camera-ready from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Seems designer Keneea Linton-George was reading our minds Saturday last as showing zero handicaps, she unveiled a capsule collection that piqued the interest of those in attendance at the five presentations held at her well-appointed boutique located at 80 Lady Musgrave Road. “It’s a collection to help women decide what to wear, how to accessorise it, and how to look race-day fab,” Linton-George told All Woman Fashion. No stranger to the world of racing and, indeed, the Royal Enclosure at Royal Ascot, Linton-George rolled out the red carpet to unveil her 14-piece collection. Cognisant that today’s woman comes in various shapes and sizes, there were no one-size-fits-all pieces, but rather clothes for real women with a single mantra: to be Fab!

Inspired by the opulence and the chic vibe of the Caribbean, Linton-George upped the ante on printed organzas, vibrant colours, florals and bold prints. There was also a variety of silhouettes, including her signature fit and flare, the hyaline, the shift, the pencil and the fish tail. Executive producer of the reality fashion show Mission Catwalk, Linton-George shared that these styles were deliberately selected not only to highlight the Caribbean vibe but to complement the setting and conditions at Caymanas Park.

Manager for corporate affairs and communications at the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission (BGLC) Jeanette Lewis, who was also in attendance, was effusive in her praise for the collection.

“The collection is fantastic and I’m really delighted that she [Linton-George] has presented a range of options for women of different sizes; from the fuller-figure woman to the more petite body type,” Lewis told AWF. For maximum enjoyment at the race day, Linton-George suggests not only a great outfit, a fabulous hat and sunglasses but cotton foundation garments and comfy shoes, too.
