Yello winner Hamilton flying high to England

It’s like a dream come true for Chevant Hamilton who won the Find Yello Treasure Competition and a trip for two to watch the English Premier League match between Arsenal and Manchester City in February 2018.

Hamilton, an avid Arsenal fan, told the Jamaica Observer that he got his wish to see his favourite club in action.

“I am an Arsenal fan, but right now they not playing too well. But just to get to go to the Emirate Stadium is a great thing. It’s an honour to go there and get some pictures,” said Hamilton.

The Find Yello Treasure hunt saw app users answering trivia based on daily themes: ‘Made in Jamaica Monday’, ‘Travel Tuesday’, ‘Wellness Wednesday’, ‘Adventure Thursday’ and ‘Foodie Friday’. In order to win prizes, participants had to identify the company in question, find their profile on the Find Yello app, upload a screenshot of the correct clue and email to findyellotreasure@yellomg.com.

The 21-year-old Hamilton entered and won the weekly prize in the Foodie Friday category on October 27 and took home the cash prize of $10,000, and was entered in the main draw for the grand prize.

That draw, which took place on November 30 at the company’s office on Constant Spring Road, brought to a conclusion six weeks of activities across the island in which every week there was a winner.

The event was broadcast live via Yello’s Facebook page and had 300 live viewers, including Hamilton.

“I really didn’t expect to win the grand prize. I just wanted to see who won. But then all of a sudden my name came up. So it’s just a really good feeling,” said Hamilton.

“My birthday is coming up on December 15, so it is actually a good birthday gift,” he added.

Meanwhile, Yello Jamaica’s Marketing Manager Ayanna Kirton said winners have gone home with prizes of $10,000 gift certificates from Yello partners.

“This has never been done before. With Yello everyone wins, but we wanted to do something that was truly amazing and so the grand prize winner is getting the opportunity of a lifetime to see an English Premier League match, all expenses paid,” said Kirton.

“With other promotions, winning a weekly prize is no big deal because it’s usually something small — not so with Yello. Thanks to our amazing advertisers we provided our winners with amazing goods, services and experiences. The winners really struck gold with our treasure hunt,” explained Kirton.

Other daily winners were Steve Lawson, Jhenile Brooks, Christopher Smith, Kerone Edwards, Sam-Wayne Wilson, Jermaine Lee, Terreena Foster, Khadeejah Henry, Duane Morgan, Norris Johnson, Nicolette Hunt, Toshiba Alexander, Tresa McPherson and Natalie Ross.
