Jameik King voices struggles
Struggles is the latest single for Morant Bay-based dancehall newcomer Jameik King.
He expects the song to open doors for him in the music industry.
“I’m very excited about this song. It’s my first reggae project, and I’m confident that it; will be a success. I’m sure the people are going to love it, everyone can relate it to because we all face struggles in life,” King told Jamaica Observer.
The song is produced by Jarell Edwards and is featured on the Pure Light rhythm for Flydiewise Production.
Struggles is expected to be released on all major online music platforms, including iTunes and Spotify, later this month.
“My musical journey has been an interesting one, there have been many ups and downs, but I’m blessed to have Tarrus Riley as a mentor in the early days, and my brother Markland, who is part of Tarrus’ team. Things have gotten a lot better since I began working with Flydiewise Production. I’ve seen a lot of progress since I started working with them three years ago,” he said.
Jameik is booked to appear on several events before the end of the year, including the annual Tarrus Riley and Friends concert, GT Taylor’s Christmas Extravaganza, the Portmore Music Fest and the Reggae for Life concert.
“I’m looking forward to my upcoming performances, I’m going to deliver my best for my fans. It’s my time to shine and I intend to make a strong impact at all the events I’m booked for,” he said.
Jameik King is known for songs including Mama Haffi Alright, Victory Step and One Step.
