This situation reeks of wrongdoing
Dear Editor,
I’ve been keenly eyeing the recent developments in the case of that massive shipment of guns and ammunition from Miami destined for Montego Bay and, while that in and of itself was alarming, to say the absolute least, what I find even more shocking is the possible implication that the consignee of the shipment was employed to People’s National Party councillor for the Granville Division Michael Troupe.
What a bangarang!
How dare the Opposition be ranting and raving, calling for the resignation of the national security minister only to have this fall squarely on its lap?
Can you imagine the unrest that would have ensued in the second city? How then can we trust the Opposition when it comes to matters of safety?
While the official statement from the Opposition says that the former employee left councillor Troupe’s employ three months ago, documents that recently surfaced on social media show the former employee collecting a cheque on November 17 for services rendered. This punches a gaping hole in the argument that the accused had in fact long left the councillor’s company. I hope no one is trying to mislead the Jamaican people.
No charges have been laid and we must assume that everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but this scandalous mess reeks of wrongdoing.
Our usually very vocal Opposition has gone quiet. We would like to hear the truth!
