New trainers make debut
Ryan Williams and Derrick Roman, two of the 22 trainers who graduated last week from the 2017 Jamaica Racing Commission Trainers’ Training programme, will officially begin their careers at Caymanas Park tomorrow.
Heat It Up and Da Jackal will be saddled by Williams and Roman, respectively, on the 10-race midweek programme. Heat It Up is down to compete in the second race, a $180,000 claiming event for three-year-olds and upward including native-bred fiveyear- olds and upward non-winners of two, and six-year-olds and upward non-winners of three, going five-and-a-half furlongs (1,100m).
Owned by Sydney Roman, Da Jackal runs in the fourth race, a $120,000- $100,000 claiming event for three-year-olds and upward who have not earned $130,000 since August 20, 2017.
The race includes native-bred fiveyear- olds and upward maiden.
